EXPRESSIVE ARTS TRAINING IN VIENNA

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting a five-day training in Vienna focused on Expressive Arts Therapy methodology as part of our two-year project, Neurodiversity and Art Therapy, funded by Erasmus+.

Facilitated by Linda Velásquez and Ana Castro, the program provided participants with both theoretical insights and hands-on experience in expressive arts therapy. Throughout the week, participants engaged in creative activities such as painting, poetry, music, and body movement, fostering emotional connection and exploring artistic expression.

The training began with an introduction and the creation of a supportive environment where everyone felt free to share their backgrounds and experiences. As the week progressed, participants explored the philosophies behind expressive arts therapy and participated in practical sessions designed for both personal reflection and professional development.

A major highlight was the chance to experiment with various expressive arts techniques, allowing participants to tap into their creativity while addressing personal and collective themes. The week culminated in a final exhibition showcasing the artwork created during the sessions, accompanied by a video capturing moments from the training.

This enriching experience provided participants with new perspectives on how expressive arts therapy can be used to support neurodiverse communities. We extend our deepest thanks to all who participated and to our partners, Suntem Diferiți pentru Copii Diferiți and ProgettoCrescere Erasmus for their collaboration.

Also, thank you Ministry of Artists for opening up your beautiful space to us and for allowing us to hold the training at your venue.

Special gratitude goes to Erasmus+ program for making this initiative possible, supporting our mission to promote creativity, inclusion, and social development through the arts.
